"Base balance" is the one-time starting amount before background benefits. Later move-in homes (duplexes, mansions, detached houses) give no starting-cash grant.
Rent is collected on Saturday
- Weekly rent is due Saturday from 09:00 on the in-game Lagos clock.
- Advance rent can cover a bill — check the amount actually due before spending your balance.
- Unpaid rent becomes arrears; arrears above two weekly rents can lead to eviction (with an exception for each city’s lowest-cost home).

Questions & answers
When is rent collected?
Rent is collected on Saturday from 09:00 on the in-game Lagos clock. Advance rent and background benefits (like the Nepo parent-paid rent) can affect what you owe.
Is the home base balance my final starting cash?
It is the home amount before background benefits. A regular LAPO start adds a loan, Nepo uses its own cash package, and the UNILAG student start is separate.
Do I get the base balance again when I move?
No. It is a one-time starting amount, not weekly income or a moving reward.
